Sometimes, what is supposed to be a happy moment filled with laughter and fun turns to be a moment of quiet contemplation and contentment. The calmness that comes before the storm; you can see the storm, but know for the moment to cherish the peace before you are faced with the hard realities of life. Going through the storm and coming out a different person, someone who is more wise, with stories and greater strength to go on. With the storm on the horizon, this photo depicts the isolation of the battles we all fight on our own.

This piece was enhanced using Lightroom CC and Photoshop. The key being selectively editing different portions of this picture to enhance the colours and showcase the aggressive weather while keeping a warm tone for the sand to depict the safety on land, while the model borders on land and water. The most difficult yet rewarding part was working on the clouds to create texture and different shades to increase the aggressive mood the audience feels.
